At its October 15 work session, Trenton City Council agreed to table Ordinance 27-2026, which would establish the Trenton Square New Community Authority, until November 5. (story) City Attorney Nick Ziepfel said Chapter 349 of the Ohio Revised Code requires trustees to be appointed within 10 days after adoption, and that tabling to November 5 would let council consider adoption and appoint trustees at the same meeting. (story) Information Technology Director Lon Green presented a motion to buy and install audio-visual equipment from TechKinect for four conference rooms in the new municipal building at a cost not to exceed $101,387.21, and said only one estimate was sought for this phase. (story) Fire Chief Brian Sebald asked council to authorize up to $20,000 to complete a Safe Haven Baby Box at the fire department, with proposed agreements totaling $16,670.86. (story) The November 5 council agenda includes a request to move $95,842.76 from the General Fund to the Magnode TIF Fund, to be repaid by the end of 2027, and an agreement with McGill, Smith, Punshon Inc. for public works maintenance facility addition design at a cost not to exceed $45,250.
