What makes a good tip
- Something that affects people in the Miami Valley: a new business, a road or building project, a school or government decision, a change in your neighborhood.
- Where it can be checked: a link, a document, an address, a meeting date, a permit or case number.
- What you know firsthand, and how you know it.
How tips are handled
We report from public records and official sources, so a tip is where a story starts, not the story itself. We verify everything before anything is published, and not every tip becomes an article.
Your name stays private. We never name or quote someone who sent a tip unless they say in writing that we may. We don’t publish personal disputes or accusations about private individuals.
