Dayton Report graphic: What’s on the Kettering City Council agenda for Nov. 10

What’s on the Kettering City Council agenda for Nov. 10

Posted on November 6, 2026November 6, 2026 by Dayton Report

Written with the help of AI from the Kettering City Council agenda, Tuesday, November 10, 2026.

Grant for a mobile command center vehicle

A resolution on the agenda would authorize the City Manager to apply for, accept and spend grant money from the State Homeland Security Program. The money would buy a mobile command center vehicle for the Tactical Crime Suppression Unit. The agenda does not give a dollar amount for the grant.

Why it matters: A rezoning request for 2861 Wilmington Pike will get a public hearing at a future council meeting, giving residents a later chance to comment.

Supplemental appropriations for 2026

Council will also consider a resolution making supplemental appropriations, which means adding to the city’s spending authority for current expenses and other expenditures during the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2026. The agenda does not list amounts or the purposes of the added spending.

Vale Drive traffic control change

An ordinance, which is a city law, is up for first reading to amend the city’s Traffic Control Map and Traffic Control file for Vale Drive. It would also repeal Section 1(C-2) and Section 1(C-3) of Ordinance No. 4083-07. The agenda does not say what the change involves. First reading is the first of the readings before a vote on a new ordinance.

Rezoning request at 2861 Wilmington Pike

The Planning Commission has recommended approval of a zoning map amendment for Case PC-26-017, a request to rezone the property at 2861 Wilmington Pike. Council is only receiving the certificate at this meeting. A public hearing will be held at a future City Council meeting.

Other items

The meeting opens with a special presentation, a Kettering Police Department swearing-in ceremony. Council will also vote on the minutes of the Oct. 27, 2026, council meeting and workshop. No routine contracts or purchases with dollar amounts appear on the agenda.

How to weigh in

A council workshop begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Deeds Room, followed by the regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers. Both are at the Kettering Government Center, South Building, 3600 Shroyer Rd. Public comment on legislation is limited to five minutes per speaker, and audience participation near the end of the meeting is also limited to five minutes per speaker. Anyone with a disability who needs accommodations can contact the Clerk of Council at 937-296-2416. The next council meeting is Nov. 24, with a workshop at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
