How this works

Each county’s figures come from its longest-running reliable weather station, through NOAA’s Regional Climate Centers (RCC-ACIS). Dayton’s record joins Dayton International Airport with the earlier city stations back to 1893. A year or month missing more than a week (or three days in a month) of a station’s reports isn’t ranked. Temperature or snow figures appear only where a station’s record is complete enough. Records are as reported by each station; the National Weather Service’s own record books for Dayton include some earlier data.
