Soma Academy is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school that teaches Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It is located on Alexandersville-Bellbrook Road East in Centerville, in the Dayton, Ohio area. The academy’s name comes from the Greek word sōma, meaning body. Its website lists schedules for a Dayton location and several other cities, and it offers a free introductory week for new students.

The school groups its classes by age and experience. Little Porcupines is for children ages 4 to 6 and meets for 30-minute sessions twice a week. Juniors (ages 7 to 10) and Teens (ages 11 to 15) attend 45-minute classes twice a week, and the teen program emphasizes self-defense. Adult Foundations is open to anyone 16 and older, while Adult Advanced is for students with three stripes or more. A women’s-only class is also offered.

Private lessons provide individualized instruction for students who want tailored training. The academy also hosts group seminars led by Matt Strack, a fifth-degree black belt. According to the website, the program is designed to support goals such as weight loss, improved fitness, and learning self-defense.
