My Area: Home Values, Taxes, Schools and What’s Happening Where You Live

Home values, property taxes, schools, zoning cases, new businesses, weather alerts and local news for one place: enter your ZIP code, or your street address for exact results.

Saved only in this browser, never on our servers.

About My Area

Your ZIP code or address is saved only in this browser (its local storage), so the page remembers it next time; nothing about you is kept on our servers. To look it up, the page sends it once to our server, which finds its location with the U.S. Census Bureau’s geocoder (for an address) and answers with the figures; the address isn’t logged or stored. Weather alerts come straight from the National Weather Service, and news from this site. Your dashboard layout (which figures and cards you show, and their order, set with “Customize”) and the home value you pick for the tax estimate are saved the same way, only in this browser. Use “Change or forget” to clear your area, or your area and your layout. The only thing we keep is a zoning alerts signup, if you choose one, and only after you confirm it by email.

Every figure comes from one of our tools, which explain their sources: home sale prices from Dayton REALTORS® MLS sales (aggregates only), rents from HUD and Zillow, property taxes from the Ohio Department of Taxation, schools from NCES and the Census Bureau, new homes from the Census Bureau’s permit survey, and zoning cases from public agendas. A ZIP code can cross city, township and school district lines; add your street address for the exact ones. All of Dayton’s Data.
