Where to Vote in Montgomery County Today: Hours, ID and Polling Place Lookup

Posted on November 3, 2026November 3, 2026 by Dayton Report

From the Montgomery County Board of Elections and the Ohio Secretary of State. Updated Nov. 3, 2026.

Polls in Montgomery County are open today, Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters in line by 7:30 p.m. are allowed to vote.

Find your polling place

Voters cast Election Day ballots at the polling place assigned to their precinct, which is based on home address. Confirm your precinct and polling place before you go: polling places can change between elections.

  • Ohio Secretary of State voter lookup: confirms your registration, precinct and polling place.
  • Montgomery County Board of Elections poll finder: enter your address to see your polling location and a map.

The Board of Elections does not publish a full list of every precinct’s polling place, so the lookups above are the way to check. As of Tuesday afternoon, the Board’s website listed no announced polling-place changes for today.

What to bring

Ohio law requires voters at the polls to give their name and current address and show photo identification. Accepted forms, as the Board of Elections lists them:

  • An Ohio driver’s license or state ID card
  • A U.S. passport or passport card
  • A U.S. military ID, Ohio National Guard ID or U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ID card
  • Another photo ID issued by the U.S. government or the State of Ohio with your name and current address and an expiration date that hasn’t passed

A voter without one of these can give an Ohio driver’s license or state ID number, or the last four digits of a Social Security number, and cast a provisional ballot, which counts once the Board verifies it. A voter with none of these can still cast a provisional ballot but must bring qualifying ID to the Board of Elections within four days after Election Day for it to count. The Board’s ID page has the details.

Absentee ballots

The Board of Elections says absentee ballots must be returned to the Board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. The Board is at 451 W. Third St., Dayton. Voters who requested an absentee ballot but vote in person today cast a provisional ballot.

Results tonight

Unofficial results from the Montgomery County Board of Elections will post at daytonreport.com/montgomery-county-election-results as soon as counting starts after 7:30 p.m. Results are unofficial until the Board certifies them.
