Dayton Report (daytonreport.com) is a local news site covering Dayton and the Miami Valley. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Email sign-ups. When you sign up for one of our email lists (such as the home sales brief or Things to Do in Dayton), we keep your email address, the areas or topics you chose, and when you confirmed. We use this only to send you those emails.
Email you send us. If you write to info@daytonreport.com, we keep your message and address so we can reply, correct a story, or update a listing.
Links in our emails. Links in some of our emails carry a short code so we can tell whether a story was opened from that email. We use this only to count how useful our emails are.
Site visits. We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your browser, device, approximate location and the pages you view. It does not give us your name.
Advertising. The site shows ads, including ads served by Google. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
Advertisers. If you buy an ad, we keep your business name, contact details and the ad itself. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store full card numbers.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t share your email address with anyone except the services that deliver our email and run the site.
Your choices
Every email we send includes a link to unsubscribe, and you can reply to any email to ask us to stop. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email info@daytonreport.com. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Public records
Our reporting draws on public records, such as government meeting documents, election results and real estate sale records. Information that is already public in those records may appear in our stories.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes and contact
We’ll post any changes to this policy on this page. Questions: info@daytonreport.com.
